Is also Maddy's birthday! She turned 1 yesterday. Her party is on Saturday but Adam and I will be in Lock Haven for a friend's birthday so I went over yesterday with her present and cupcakes. She is adorable.
When I walked in the door her eyes went right to the cupcakes. She did not want the carrots, she did not get excited for her present, she wanted those cupcakes.
For her present I got her the Crayola beginnings crayons so she can start coloring using crayons that she can actually hold.
She liked them but was using them as toys like weebles or something.
But she will learn how to use them eventually.

August Already?
Yesterday was August 1. Meaning Summer is pretty much over.
I started the end of summer with my niece Madison's baptism.
Nathaly's parents are Madison's God parents. They had originally asked me, but since she was being baptized in the Catholic church, and I didn't receive holy communion, confirmation, or get married in the Church I couldn't be her God mother (hey, I was baptized Catholic, though).
After a day of visiting with family, I was exhausted. But I remembered that Mondays are supposed to be weigh in days.
So I got on WiiFit this morning, to find that I had gained 1.1lbs! What? I know I haven't been exercising as regularly as I should, but I usually stay the same weight. I am having my monthly visitor right now, so that could account for bloating/ water weight, but I shouldn't make excuses. I just really need to crack down on this and make myself get into a routine. (I spent 35 mins on WiiFit this morning, but that probably won't happen everyday).
One goal I have made for myself is to drink more water. My sister can go through 2 or 3 large bottles of water everyday while I barely drink one glass with dinner. I am just never really thirsty. So I decided to drink one bottle of water every day.
I have had these bottles for about 2 years, but I never seem to drink the whole thing. So I am now going to drink all 24 oz in a day. I know this is only really 3 of the 8 or so glasses of water you are supposed to drink daily, but this is a lot for me.
One good thing that I found out today is my waist measurement. According to some expert on the Today show this morning, a woman's waist should be less than 35 inches (my mom told me 30, but lets just go with what the 'expert' said, ok?) and mine is 33.5. So that's one bright spot to the otherwise sad weight news of the week.
on the other hand, check out my little fatty:

Yup, down 1.3 lbs! I guess Adam's friends really gave him the workout playing with him all day Saturday. But, oh, to just eat, sleep, and attack a little mouse... life must be good.

Babies
Early this morning (6:15, the only reason I was up this early in the summer was to take Adam's car to get the emissions checked and then make a Sam's Club run) Adam came upstairs from the bathroom.
A: I don't know why, but this is the third morning where I've felt like throwing up.
Me: Are you pregnant?
A: I think so...
Me: That's not fair! I'm supposed to be the one who has the baby.
I should mention that we are not trying to get pregnant, that's not even in the plans for a couple more years. I have a year of grad school left, then we want to plan a nice vacation.
So, no babies for us (well, me anyway. Adam is still getting over his frequent morning sickness) but I do have two adorable nieces.

I love spending time with them, they are so adorable and funny.
